Hey guys!!! We are BACK! and boy did we have an incredible time. This trip was for both our birthdays. Drew had already been in Chicago for a couple days before I flew down on wednesday. When I arrived at our condo, Drew had a big piece of Chicago style pizza waiting on me! YUMMM! Then we headed to Wrigleyville! I immediately got me a Chicago T-shirt and we met some of his friends at a pub. Drew’s sister and her husband then met us and we headed to Ubersteins. They serve these GIGANTIC beers- Drew’s kind of place haha. After that we headed to the Cubs game. Kate and Brad got us incredible tickets that were 15 rows up! SO much fun. We ate hot dogs and drank some old style beers and had an amazing time. PS. we saw the outfielder get drenched with beer by a fan! It was crazy, and they ended up arresting the wrong guy! haha.

Thursday morning, i woke up pretty early and headed to Michigan Ave while Drew slept in. He was exhausted from a Phish concert he went to that tuesday. I got a GORGEOUS dress at bebe that I got to wear for my birthday dinner. I also got a super cute dress for a wedding this next weekend. Drew and I later met up at Taver on Rush for a yummy lunch with his friend Brandon. Drew and I did a little more shopping and then headed back to the Condo to get ready for dinner. I couldnt wait to wear my new dress, so I wore it this night haha (you will be seeing it again on my birthday haha) Before dinner we headed to the Hancock building. We went up to the signature room for some cocktails. WHAT A VIEW! It was gorgeous. We got to watch the sunset too. We were told the best view is from the women’s bathroom so of course i snapped a picture in there. Then we headed to Gibsons for dinner. I mean how could we not go there haha. We got one of their famous martinis, famous meaning STRONG! haha. Kate and Brad also joined us for dinner. I ordered a glass of Gibson wine haha, see the trend lol and Drew and I split a porterhouse steak. It was seriously the BEST steak I have ever had. SO good. Kate and Brad told our waiter it was our birthdays so they brought out the BIGGEST slice of chocolate mouse cake with a candle. They did a little Happy Birthday Chant too. It was delicious! After dinner we had full intentions of checking out a local bar, but we were pretty tired.

Friday I got up pretty early ONCE again haha and went to another spot to look at some shots while Drew slept in AGAIN haha. We met up for lunch at an Irish pub. It was super super yummy. We decided to take the afternoon easy because we had a big night ahead of us again. A big group of us met at Joes Stone Crab for dinner. It was the first time i have had stone crab and it was really good! I got King Crab legs though, MY FAV! Another super yummy dinner. After dinner we headed out to Vertilgo for a night cap with Drew’s sis and hubby. We had an early flight so we didnt stay out to late : )

What a fun trip! I went to Chicago for the first time last summer. We had dinner at the Hancock Building. Oh my! So high up!

I have been studying abroad in Europe for the past 5 weeks and return to Chicago tomorrow… I have dinner reso's at Gibson's for Wednesday night. I cannot WAIT!!! 🙂

Funny you ate at Tavern on Rush. The first time I was in Chicago my boyfriend and I were starving after sight seeing all day. We stopped at Tavern because it was the nearest restaurant to where we were. Bad idea. We were the most under-dressed people there–everyone else was dressed to the nines. I was so embarrassed! You looked fabulous, though 🙂
Too much fun….my next vacation is in Chicago at Christmas. My John is from the south side, but still a CUBS FAN. Was it the pirates game they won by like 15?

Kate and Brad's place is amazing. Can't believe its your first time visiting them. You must go back. I must go too. I really want to go to Chicago and Boston, but will have to wait for next summer – I'll never go in the winter. The only winter city I want to go to is New York for Christmas. You can call me crazy, but I really enjoy visiting cities for vacations instead of beaches. I just love the thrill of exploring new places. Question – What does Drew have on – vampire lips?
