“Mane” Attraction

Let’s talk HAIR!

I was born with a BRIGHT RED Mohawk… not joking haha. My dad’s mom and my mom’s dad both have red hair. So thats where I get it. When I was little, I HATED my hair. I think every red head goes thru one of those stages. haha. Now 26 years later, I find my hair to be my best accessory. I have not dyed my hair once, but I have wanted to get highlights, but I usually get natural highlights from the sun. I think its important to take care of you hair as well. So lets talk about hair products.

I use Kerastase shampoo and Garnier conditioner. I use Garnier shampoos too to switch it up. Kerastase has LOTS of different shampoos… from Dry and Rebellious to Aging Hair. I use Bain Satin 1 & 2 and Bain Mirror
The Bain Satin Line is for normal to very dry hair. I LOVE this shampoo!

Bain Mirror is actually for color treated hair, but it makes any type of hair SHINY. It has a Fibroiconic System that transforms your hair’s surface. It smells amazing too! I do not use products in my hair normally. But when In the summer I rely on Kereastse Oleo-Relax. This serum is awesome. I have naturally wavy hair and in the summer it can get a little.. well BIG haha. Not saying I dont like big hair haha. I only use a dime size amount of this and only on the bottom half of my hair. I put it on my hair before I blow dry it. I also find that my hair blow drys quicker.
Hair Spray… I have tried them ALL… not kidding haha. But my all time fav will always be Big Sexy! This stuff is just awesome. I learned a trick from a hair stylist. When you are done curling your hair, spray some hairspray in your hand, tip your head over and scrunch your hair. I think it kinda sets the curls, but it makes your hair pretty dang big, but it will fall haha.

Now STYLING!

I am rarely seen without my hair curled. Its a routine to me now. My little niece pointed out to me not very long while I was curling her hair that “some people like to wear their hair straight and that i should more often” haha. Love that girl. My blow dryer is from walmart. I HAVE to let my hair air dry for at least 10 min or it will take me ages to blow dry my hair. I also try to let my hair air dry completely at least once a week.

So to straighten my hair, I of course use the Chi. My sister got me a Chi-Tah for my bday a couple years ago. Its so cute! haha I actually wore my hair straight the other day and had to document it : )

When I curl my hair I use the WIGO curling iron. My bestie Kristy introduced me to this awesome curling iron. I ordered my from Ulta. Its pretty amazing! I curl my hair in sections. I also curl the hair that frames my face from the root down and then the rest from the bottom up. I try to achieve the victoria’s secret waves, but have not mastered it yet!

I have vowed to wear my hair different this summer. My hubby loves my hair half way up. I get headaches pretty quickly when i do so, but no pain, no gain right! haha
And last, the fabulous lady that is responsible for cutting my hair : ) Taylor! I ADORE her! We always have the best time chatting it up. She has cut my hair for almost 4 years. AND she is cutting my hair today : ) (well trimming it haha) Here is a pic from Strut for a Mutt when she did my hair for the fashion show. I get my hair cut every 10 weeks…. religiously : )
So there you have it! The story of my hair haha. The hair show this weekend should be SO much fun. They are doing a AM and PM looks.(I am getting a PM)

    You have GORGEOUS hair! And I also use Kerastase Oleo-Relax for my wild wavy hair. A little bit goes a long way, and Kerastase products are my all time faves!

    So wigo? Is it better then hot tools and other brands…?? i always like to try out diff things for my c-Razy hair (you can say i have a white girl 'fro).. ;0

    Your hair always looks so good! I would really like to stray away from wearing mine straight everyday but I am afraid to try curling it. I'm not sure I could do it. I need hair help! Oh and if your chi ever goes out you need to try a Paul Mitchell straightner. I love it so much.

    I'm totally with you on the red hair thing. There is something about us red heads though! 😉

    BTW, you should try the Original T3 hair dryer. I have really thick hair and it dries in 5 minutes, every time. Love it.

    I love red hair.. I used to have a thing for guys with red hair. I even tried to play it off one time I fell for one I thought he was blonde nope he was a red head. Your hair is so pretty straight but I did notice your hair is always curled I love curling mine it's almost easier than straightening it.

    Giant hair is basically my life goal. And it's never going to happen for me, sadface! I'm seriously tempted to drive all the way to Arkansas from NE just to see your stylist – she sounds like she knows what she's doing!
