Show Us Your Life- Wedding Reception

Well once again I am behind on this one haha. But last week on Kelly’s Korner she had Show us your Life- Wedding Reception!

I have said it a million times, but this was truly a dream! It was my fairy tale! I wanted a lot of personal touches at the reception. Like I said on the last wedding post, I was very particular on my flowers. I wanted a Southern Romance look, so NWA florists and I came up with 3 arrangements for the 25 tables. I LOVED them. We had big arrangements, candelabra arrangements, and a smaller arrangement all with peonies, hydrangea, and roses. We hired Eventures to come in and put up a ceiling treatment along with three chandeliers. They also had mood lighting that was of course, pink, across the whole room. The guests walked in on a red carpet too! You all know how crafty my mom is, well she made the leopard table runners and the pillows we had on the ottomans by the dance floor, both were monogrammed. My sister and I did all the stationary for the tables- menus, table numbers, all the sings etc. We made the napkins rings and had miniature cinderella carriages that held the table numbers . I thought of some cute signature drinks- The Giblet, The Tara-tini, The Sadie Rita, the Crown Hog/Crown Skinny Hog, and the Claire Bear. It was a lot of fun hearing everyone talk about which drinks they were drinking. : ) Drew and I went to Sho gun, a sushi restaurant, so we had a sushi appetizer to commemorate that as well as spinich dip and crab balls. We had a candy table with included my favorite cookies on a stick and cupcakes. Also, Drew and I had our grandparents make the pies for our pie table! THAT was such a hit! Drews’ aunt is a cake baker so she made our wedding cake! It was HUGE!!! I gave drew free reign on his grooms cake and boy did he take that and run! He chose Gene Simmons and Rick’s Bakery made it VERY life like. Drew absolutely loved it. Our first dance started with Elvis Presley’s Cant help falling in love with you and then we surprised our guests when it changed to Michael Jackon’s “The Way you Make me Feel!” It was hilarious!!! My dad and I danced to Footloose right after. : ) At the end of the reception we had a hot dog cart come out with the words “Hot diggity Dog, Drew and Tara are Married!” all over it. It was aHUUUGE hit! For our “fake leave” I made these wands that I attached bells to for everyone to shake. They were so cute! I could go on and on! But lets just get to the pictures….

If you want to see even more click here, this was a post I back in December when I first got my pics : )

FABULOUS – that's all I can say to describe it!!! LOVE all of the details too.. I took such great pride {and a lot of time + help from family} to make every little detail perfrect and I love that you did the same! It just makes your big day feel so much more YOU, right?!?

I had a classic, sophisticated New Orleans theme & of course my favorite Fleur De Lis symbol was EVERYWHERE – crazy! We too had special signature drinks: a New Orleans Hurricane, which was served through a fleur de lis ice lugs, a Burbon Street + Coke, a Blue Bayou… I can't even remember the rest πŸ™‚ Ha!

Thanks for letting us share in your big day through all of your pics & great description!
