Owen and Bree’s Carnival Birthday!!!

This party was SO much fun putting together! When my sister told me the theme my mind started racing with ideas! I ran around town like crazy for two weeks and it was a blast. Immediately we wanted to have a big carnival treats table. Full of caramel apples, candy apples, popcorn, peanuts, cotton candy, and sunflower seeds. I actually made the candy apples from scratch the night before, first time using a candy thermometer and maybe the last haha, but they turned out great! : ) The caramel apples were much easier : ) Then we wanted tons of carnival food! Nachos with that “fake” cheese, hotdogs, pretzels, and pickles. The cake was made by our go to place, Ricks. They did an outstanding job on it and it tasted SOOO good. At the end of the night we brought out chocolate covered frozen bananas! DELISH!

So we had the food covered and then we had to decided on the games and prize booth. I went everywhere getting special toys and treats for the kids and rachel ordered these adorable soaps that had fishes in them, like the fishes you win at carnivals. We steered clear of real fishes : ) The prize booth was full of awesome toys and I hung up some stuffed animals, punching balls, pennants and more. It turned out pretty darn cute, if i say so myself.  The games were a HUGE hit. We had a ring toss, duck pond, the cakewalk, bean bag toss, shane made a plinko board, potato sack race, block knockdown and the strong man contest. Drew and I got Bree a ball pit that looked like a carnival tent for her birthday and the babies loved it. The strong man barbells I made out of dal rods and foam Frisbees! The boys LOVED them.  We also had a face painting and balloon animal station set up. It was so cute to see all the kids with their faces painted. At then end of the night we had a little surprise up our sleeve. We filled up some pie plates with whipped creme and had the daddies line up to get hit in the face with them! haha. The kids got a huge kick out of it and the dads were such good sports. I even made Drew get in on it haha. I made personalized signs for each game that had to do with Rachel’s family, even the dogs were included : ).  I also made the labels for the water bottles and cotton candy bags.

We hung up almost 300 feet of triangle carnival banners across rachels fence and carnival signs. We had TONS of balloons too, you cant have a carnival without those! I want to give a shout out to Karah for her adorable banners we used on the stair case. She is such a sweet girl and great to work with! Thank you Karah!

It was definitely a labor of love and most importantly Owen and Bree had a BLAST! So enough with the talk, lets get to all the pictures!!! Wait till you see how cute Rachel’s kiddos looked, like always : )

i think the only pictures I was in all night, I was running around like crazy

I am EXHAUSTED to say the least haha. I have been batteling a cold for the past few days, but I cant let that stop me, beause now I am in full time party planning mode for MY birthday! : ) I cant wait!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I will be catching up on everyones blogs now that I have a little time : )

XOXO
