So with a new house, comes new fun things to put inside it! I have been collecting a few pieces here and there the past few months. In our new house, we will have two living areas. So we need twice the amount of furniture. Drew and I have pretty different tastes when it comes to decorating. He is very minimal and I am very southern. So I am trying to go very classic, yet warm with our new house.
The “man” living area has a a fireplace, so I am decorating it in a Ralph Lauren/big cedar kind of way. We have the perfect leather couch for this room and a big heavy chest for the coffee table that i am re doing. My mom and i have SOO many ideas for this room and I cant wait to see it come together!
The other living room is the more “formal” living. I have always wanted a living room like this. My color scheme is dark purple, cinnamon and chocolate brown. I am going to add other shades of purple as well to make it more versatile thru the seasons. I purchased a chocolate brown tufted ottoman a couple weeks ago that will go in this room. I immediately wanted a dark purple velvet chair. I looked at getting a custom one.. WAY expensive, then looked at furniture stores and couldn’t find the right color. The the other day I was walking thru TJ Max and found this beauty! I love it!
We purchased a new off white coach and love seat a couple months ago that we had planned on moving into our current house, but we are saving it for this room.
Next up was the rug. I have always been a fan of damak prints, and fun florals, but i wanted something chic and something that POPS. I found this brown and offwhite chevron rug on overstock and fell in LOVE.
I also picked up these two pictures for this room. How awesome are they?
Next up was our new dining room. This room is one of my FAVorite rooms in the house. It has gorgeous dark hardwoods, painted a beautiful cinnamon color and has a fab chandelier. I just love it. I wanted to go more southern with this room so I got an oval table. I picked out the beautiful chairs to match the table and then some super fun place settings.
I am still playing around with the place settings and rug ideas for this room as well
I found this beautiful frame at the NWA boutique show for $20! Can you believe that?! its currently in our guest bathroom but she may move to our master bathroom.
I also got this fancy schmancy tea set a couple weeks ago. You betcha I will be having lots of parties at our new house : )
So much to do, but I am loving everything so far! I cant wait to get the closet loaded with all my pretties and decorated….yall will LOVE it! : )
