Today I am sharing a couple more looks from our time in Catalina! I am also sharing a Travel Guide at the need of the post of my favorite restaurants, the hotel we stayed at and a few activities to enjoy while visiting.

Day three in Catalina we did a bit more exploring.  We started the day at Country Kitchen where you will find a nice and hearty breakfast with just about any breakfast item your heart desires. I had my usual, Eggs Benedict, but I may or may not have had a side of blueberry pancakes too.

After breakfast we rented a golf cart and took the loop around the island. This is a MUST do while in Catalina because you will see the most spectacular views of the island. We were blown away with how gorgeous it was. For lunch we headed to the the dock to get some fish and chips. This leads to a funny story that involves a bird….

We were sitting by the dock and Drew jumped up because he saw a seal. I was minding my own business and in swoops a HUGE seagull that proceeded to snatch up Drew’s sandwich. Mind you.. this happened probably 6 inches from my face haha. Apparently this happens quite often as we saw the same bird snatch two more unlucky visitors delicious sandwiches.

After lunch we met up with our friends from Hungary for a drink over at the Cantina. I mentioned yesterday that I had my fav margarita there, so we had to go back for round two right?

That evening we jumped back on the ferry and headed over to LA for our last night in California. I have one more look to share from our trip tomorrow so be sure to come back by!

Below are my recommendations for hotel, restaurants and activities while visiting Catalina

Hotel

Aurora Spa and Hotel– This is where we stayed(our room is the main picture on the site.) The rooms are quite small, but the location was perfect as well as the beautiful views. The staff was very helpful and we really have no complaints about our stay

Food

The Lobster Trap– a fantastic lunch spot. Get the Lobster Roll or Scallops!

Bluewater Grill– One of my favorite meals of the trip. Fresh seafood and Gorgeous views if you sit outside! I had the salmon and it was excellent.

Jack’s Country Kitchen– an all american breakfast with just about any breakfast food you can imagine!

CC Gallagher– great sushi spot! We stopped by here twice one for dinner and once for a quite bite. We also had the chocolate brown/molten dessert and it was amazing!

Catalina Cantina- AWESOME margs and great people watching spot

Avalon Seafood and Chips- Traditional fish and chips spot.. but watch out for the birds! haha

Big Olafs- HUGE ice cream cones!

Activities

Descanso Beach Club– This is a short walk down from the main town and you can rent cabanas to sit by the water. It’s a beautiful spot with a great bar too.

Golf Cart/Bike Rentals- You can rent a golf cart for $40 an hour to take around town. This is the main way most people get around if they are exploring the island further than the immediate town. We rented one to take the loop which again is a MUST do. We rented Bikes to which is around $5 an hour.

Catalina Casino- We didn’t do this, but we heard the tour is amazing!

Rent a Pedal Boat

Zip Lining- we didn’t do this either, but next time it will be happening!

White visiting Catalina, be prepared to slow it down and relax.  If you have any questions about Catalina, don’t hesitate to email me!
