An Ode to the Peony

Well not exactly an Ode, its too early for that, but why oh why do these beautiful, delicate, gorgeous flowers have to be so dang expensive! It is the most feminine flower EVER! I discovered this flower while flipping through an Inside Weddings magazine. There was this extravagant wedding that obviously had no budget for the flowers, because they had a truckload of peonies! I will say, I am a lucky girl to be able to even get peonies for my wedding since they are not in season and my wedding is in November! I wish I could have them EVERYWHERE, but I don’t think my dad would approve. : ) What brought me to this post is that my mom and I met with our florist last night. We are VERY excited about everything. We have 25 tables at our reception and I came up with 3 different floral tablescapes. Eight tables with have the large cylinder arrangements with Hydrangeas, open blush and ivory roses, Blush Stock, lysianthias, ivy and these green berry things, that I don’t remember the name of. : ) We are also putting pearls hanging at different levels inside the vases with a crystal at the end of them.. ahh i love it! Nine other tables are having iron candelabras with 5 votive holders at top with an arrangement surrounding the bottom with hydrangea, roses, peonies, and those berry things : ) The last 8 tables are going to have a square of flowers with hydrangea, roses and stock with either 2 or 4(we haven’t decided) skinny clear cylinders with ivory floating candles at the top. Drew and I are having a sweetheart table and we are using candles and my bouquet as decor on it. My bouquet is going to be spectacular! Its going to have hydrangea, blush roses, and Ivory peonies with a pearl ivory wrap. I can not even explain how excited I am about the flowers! I cant thank my dad enough for making my dream flowers a reality! It really is going to be amazing : )

Also here is a picture that we used for insipiration for the cake. It will not be this ornate, but I loved the hand made roses! Drew’s Aunt is a cake baker and she is making our wedding cake! She took off a week from work to start on making the blush roses. I can only imagine what time and effort it takes to make something like this! We appreciate her so much!

(this was from a magazine thats why its ripped : ) )
Tomorrow I get to see my bridal portraits! YIPPPPPPPPIE! I hope I just love them!
