2010 Goals

Hey guys! So I am starting 2010 off with some goals. I feel like 2010 is going to be a big year for Drew and I and I cant wait! so here are my goals

1. Find a Church home. Drew and I grew up with different religious background. He Episcopalian, myself Baptist. I am confident we can find a church home we both enjoy.

2. Speaking of Church I am going to read the bible more this year. To start things off, my church home as a child, First Baptist of Springdale (and First Baptist of Pinnacle) is having a 21 day journey with God. It is where you give up something for 21 days and spend that time worshiping. I am giving up dress buying. YES that sounds so silly and but honestly I spend so much time looking, shopping, buying dresses that I know it is a perfect choice. My sister and Amy are giving up Facebook! Now that is a challenge! I feel so blessed with the life I have, that I need to spend more time thanking the person responsible!

3. Start Saving More! Drew and I want to buy our first home this year and God willing start a family shortly after. (PS I already know how I am going to spill the beans to yall when we do get preggo : ))

4. Get more involved in the community! I am very excited about this one! Our monthly group, Kitchen Queens, is going to get involved with our community more this year! For instance, things like visiting and donating to animal shelters, donating to food banks, visiting nursing homes, race for the cure and etc. With the smallest gestures you can make the biggest impact! Also we have our first chapter of Kitchen Queens started! Megan and Lindsey started one with their fabulous friends! If any of you are interested in starting one of your own, email me! We would love for this awesome idea to spread!

5. Have more Date nights with Drew! We both were SO busy last year (well maybe it was me haha) So its time to slow down just a little and have more time for us.

6. Keep up my workout routine and inspire others! There is nothing better than feeling physically fit and healthy. I love being a strong woman! I am not scared to have muscles or a six pack. I want to inspire and motivate others this year to get to reach their health goals! If any of you readers ever have any questions about working out, eating etc don’t hesitate to email me! (taralaurengibson@gmail.com)

7. Spend more time outdoors! Miss Sadie loooooooves to go for walks. When I get her leash out she goes bonkers! I want to go hiking more and go for longer runs outside.

8. Be the best person I can possibly be! I have learned to not sweat the small stuff over the past couple of years. I am a very emotional girl. I take everything to heart, so it has always been a challenge for me to not let the little things get to me. Also, I have learned that taking the high road (no matter how tough it can be) is the best possible way to act. No matter what, it will always pay off!

I say I have some pretty intense goals ahead of me but I know I am a strong women and I can do it! I wish everyone luck on their goals/resolutions! I cannot wait to see what 2010 has in store for me and everyone else!!XOXO πŸ™‚

PS. I will be back tmrw with my bachelor recap!!

Those are great goals. Try looking at a Methodist church it was a good mix for my hubby and I. I am Episcopalian and he was raised Baptist and then became Methodist in his early 20s. Its a perfect blend. Good luck with your 2010 goals and the baby making process πŸ™‚

Lovely lady, you can meet these goals!!!

Methodist churches are good ones to try for Baptists (as a former Southern Baptist).

I've missed your Bachelor recaps, so I'm looking forward to tomorrow's!!

I'm not sure what city you are located in, but I found this blog helpful when I was looking for a church: caniwearjeans.blogspot.com

That's awesome that you want to look for a home church! We found one this past year and it has been SO rewarding! I hope God leads ya'll to one soon! Happy 2010! I'm still so new to the area, but once I get to know more people I definitely hope to start up a Kitchen Queens. Such a phenomenal and fun idea! You should start a website and go global. :o)

Great goals!!! You can cross off #6 after you help me lose my last 10 pounds!!!! #7 is awesome, I would love to hike. I mean gosh we do live in the Ozark mountains, there are trails everywhere around us!!! I should be able to keep up with you on a hike, but not a run =) Or maybe that's how I'll lose these last 10 pounds – by running with you =)

great list! you get mad props for giving up dress shopping for 21 days but it will totally be worth it! I think we need to find "our" church this year too, I want to raise the baby going.

Fingers crossed on baby news!!! You will make a fabulous mom, and I will be SO happy for you when the time comes!

PS I'm glad you wrote that about finding the same church. I experience that with my hubby too. He's Protestant and I'm Catholic. So we'll have to meet in the middle too!

  14. ...All Things Refined

I live in Dallas, but speak at various Churches across the nation. Pinnacle Church in Rogers in one of my all time favorite places. Pastor Ronnie Floyd has assembled an amazing team. What a beautiful setting too.
