Many of you have emailed me or asked about my routine thru out the week so here is a look “inside”
Sunday- This is my resting day
Tuesday- Interval Running.
1 – 5(minutes) brisk walk at 5.0
6-7- jog at 5.5
7-8 – run at 6.5-6.8
8-9 – jog at 5.5
9-10 – run at 6.5-7.0
10-11- brisk walk at 5.0
11-12 – run 6.5-7.0
12-13 – brisk walk at 5.0
13-14 – run at 6.5-7.0
14-15 – jog at 5.5
I sometimes throw some sprints at 7.5-8.0 once i get over 25 min of doing this. I do intervals for 45 min or more if I am feeling up to it that day. Intervals help to improve oxygen delivery to the muscles. That sounds great huh, but why is that good….The more oxygen which is delivered to your muscles, the faster and the further you will be able to run, which means MORE CALORIES BURNED! . Incorporating interval running into your routine will help you become a stronger faster runner and it does help eliminate boredom on a treadmill 🙂
PS- Wanted to say thank you to all your girls (you know who you are; ) )who have sent me numerous emails, texts, tweets(i think thats the right lingo haha) and fb messages! You guys are SOOO sweet!!! I really appreciate all of you!
I recently started the Shred and I LOVE it. It's more challenging than a lot of people think!
I agree! The Shred is fabulous! I recommend it to everyone. Jillian's Burn Fat Boost Metabolism and No More Trouble Zones are awesome workouts too. If you get bored with the Shred, you could try those. They are almost an hour long though!
Jillian is my inspiration. I love her! I hope things are going well with you doll. Have a fabulous day 🙂
LOVE your interval tips! THANKS! I'm training for my first 15k and need all of the advice I can get.
Hey Tara! I have never posted on your blog, but I read it often. Keep up the workout Wednesdays! I love them!
What do you do while on the treadmill… ipod/watch tv/magazines? What keeps you going?! I have been spending time on the treadmill and enjoy listening to music, but I think my music selection will get boring.
Hope your doing good!
I am definitely going to jump on the Shred bandwagon, I am intrigued at this point!
The shred KICKS my butt – but I love it! Your intervals look intense – I pretty much walk hard on the treadmill, sometimes running on commercial breaks! haha. That's the best I can do…
love the blog – new follower! how creepy is it to say I think we could pass as sisters! Red hair's the best 😉
I love Jillian and I love the Shred! Her "Banish Fat, Boost Motab" is really good too for once you get used to the Shred.=)
I love the Shred. I can definitely tell a difference in my body when I do it! I love reading what other people do during their workouts, it is encouraging!
I do love the Shred!! I highly recommend joining a gym for classes. The classes at my gym keep me motivated to work out because I can always try something new and never get bored!
Great tips! I really need to drop a few pounds!
Yay! I am glad you are back with workout Wed. I am doing The Shred also. I am on level 2 and using 5lbs weights. Its a killer but I love how its transforming my body. I feel my arms getting alot stronger and more toned. I reccommend it to everyone. Its a great workout and Jillian keeps you motivated.
Love Jillian, seriously… don't we all wish we could look like her! You've hinted that something has beeen wrong for awhile now, and whatever it is, I hope that things turn out fine for you. I wish you the best!
Thanks for the tips Tara!!
I'm currently doing the P90X program, and I think it's something you would love! After I'm finished with my 90 days, I'll have to give the Shred a try.
I highly recommend the gym if not for anything but the classes! I go to at least 2 or 3 a week – it makes me feel so much more motivated to get up and do something! Also, I'm really thinking about the Shred… does it really work?
I love the Shred–I think Jillian is a great motivator. Her no-nonsense attitude is definitely refreshing in comparison to a lot of workout video leaders. I also love group classes at the gym. Seeing other people push themselves helps me push myself too!
Ambs ~ Yes, the Shred really works. You lose inches, tone up, and lose pounds. I did it in September and lost 5 pounds and I just finished another round in January and lost 4 more pounds. I highly recommend it!
Ah the shred…"false sense of lethargy" as Jillian says.. your interval training sounds intense.. i do body combat with is interval based. x
Love the post! Jillian is my personal trainer, she keeps me in check. I actually have a hot date with her and my treadmill tonight.
Girl, I just started using Shred a few weeks ago! LOOOVE it!!
I love the Shred! It's pretty much amazing. I also think interval training is the best workout – I haven't done it in forever (I think I'm scared, ha), but definitely remember the fabulous results!
LOVE the Shred! I am totally using it to get my body back post baby!
I've GOT to stop reading these posts being a puffy pregnant person! You are so in shape girl!
That is awesome! You remind me of how dedicated I used to be – I have not gotten as hard core again after two kids – I try – it just has NOT happened 🙂
Kiran
ok, you rock! I really want to try The Shred! I think I need to buy it and get to it=)! I love classes at the gym, I've been doing Body Pump… well not for the past week or so, out of town, snowed in… eating cookies… yikes=)!
after hearing all the hype i couldnt resist and just started the shred myself. and while it is pretty dang intense i feel like i need more than the 20 mins to feel like ive actually "worked out" so im glad to hear you combine it with other activities. way to go girl, you look great! thanks for the tips

Ah now I really need to go to target I only have 10lb weights at home and haven't made it to the gym all week!
This post just gave me the inspiration to go running…
I'm using the five pound weights and it's seriously kicking me into shape. I need to work some intervals into my treadmill schedule. Thanks for the tips.
