Orange Beach Shower!

hey hey pretties! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

My weekend was FABulous! so much fun to talk about!

This weekend was my best friend’s shower I threw! I have been planning this for months and it turned out perfect. So many little details went into each and every thing. I wanted this to be super special for her and Mike. The theme, Orange Beach, came to me immediately, well because thats where they are getting married! The color scheme was all colors of coral/orange and ocean colors.

Lets talk about the dessert table, or temptation island as I like to call it. I ordered all the desserts from three different local bakeries. I wanted all the desserts to have an ocean feel. I did things like putting the  macaroons over a bed of brown sugar and seashells and adding the sand dollars and seashells to the cupcakes. I also found the CUTEST boats at hobby lobby. I got the small one, filled it up with sand and then filled up bottles with sixlets(aka pearls) and labeled them “Siebert Shores Pearls” after the couples last name. The tags I made look “vintage” with a brown ink pad. I also found an adorable sailboat and wrote “siebert” on it and put their wedding date as the registration number ; )  I also had a message in a bottle on this table that had “Kristy and Mikes Love Story” in it. The gorgeous candle holders are actually ones I purchased for our future home. They matched so beautifully.   The fabric was ordered and bought locally and was just perfect for the theme.

Next up the favor table. Kristy and Mike got engaged in napa, so I wanted to play off that. I immediately thought of a beach themed wine stopper and found them online in no time. I decorated this table with oranges, wine corks and hanging lanterns/lighthouses. The silverware was also on this table and each roll had a sparkly seashell strung on them. I found a captains will and glued the S to it and we used this as a prop for each couple to take a picture with. Kinda like a guest book in pictures.

Then there was the food table. I wanted fabric that looked like water and lucked out and found some online. I wanted some easy food that had a beachy feel so I had fajitas catered. Talk about delish! My mom put together the gorgeous arrangement for me for this table as well. I used fish dishes for the spoon holders and also found seashorse candle holders. By the front door when the guests arrived I had a table for each person to write wedding wishes to the couple. It was called “Make a wish upon a Starfish” I found these super cute wooden pencils and also had bottles for each guest to put their wish in.

Last up was the lounge area outside. My super talented mom made me all sorts of pillows from the fabric I ordered. I found this ridiculously cute tiki hut centerpiece and put a bride and groom inside it. It was so adorable! I also added the seashells to it. We used seashells that were from orange beach as well as decoration. I purchased the big boat like the one on the dessert table as the outside drink holder. I got coral and turquoise water and of course some beer for it : ) We had tiki torches lining the lounge area too. The weather couldnt have been any better and everyone enjoyed hanging outside. I had many assorted drinks available: White Sangria, Red Sangria, an “Orange Beach Mixer”, Orange Crush,  and many other options. They were all served in a cups that I put a “S” sticker on and coral and white stripped paper straws.

I had  SO much fun searching for all the platters, beach decor and little extras. I LOVED how the color scheme turned out and Kristy appreciated the little details i put into everything. The most important thing is that everyone had  SO much fun! Now lets get to the pictures : )

Today was Miss Claire Bear’s last local competition so I got my new zebra shorts on and went and supported her.

Such a fun weekend! Now its on to planning the next big Shower.. my little sisters : ) It never stops haha ; )

Have a fab week! XOXO

Gorgeous!! I am in love w/ that theme. And I've read your blog a lot so I remember the friend you gave the shower for and she looks amazing w/ dark hair! She looks like she's lost weight too! 🙂 I'm trying to lose weight and I'm hungry now that I saw all the amazing goodies in this post!

You did a great job! I wish this had happened last year when my sister-in-law was getting married because she had a time coming up with ideas. I did make some cookies for her; I dyed the dough bright colors (like she used in her wedding) and used starfish and sand dollar cookie cutters. Then I brushed on gold dust on the starfish and pearl on the sand dollar so they had a nice look. 🙂 And then I placed them on a plate of brown sugar sand…like you! Everyone LOVED that idea!
